It feels like months since I last wrote an entry here. Oh yeah, it actually has been months.
How are you doing? It took me some time but I figured I’d return to my personal writing blog. It’s been a long few months and I have no complaints. In all honesty, be it from landing amazing writing gigs to being applauded to criticized to making money. All of that, in the last 3 months was more than what I accomplished in 3 years of writing online.
Well, it’s because I took writing seriously. That’s the problem with us writers at times. We tend to allow our insecurities and fears hold us back from becoming better writers. I was afraid, without a doubt, I was afraid.
It was quite obvious since it took me this long to actually make a proper living online let alone get my name out there. Here’s the catch, I hit a plateau.
I would fire up my PC and not have any direction to go. Any form of writing evaded me and it was awful. I was completely lost until I realized that my own fears and insecurities brought me to this point.
With that being said, I took a few buck, renewed my domain name – Daywriter, identified the kind of brand I wanted to create and bought wordpress hosting.
Best Decision Ever!
I removed 50 boring lame slapdash articles and put together 4 Brilliantly written articles on writing. You know what happened, those 4 articles opened up doors upon doors of chances. Why? I was so proud of the content I put together that applying for jobs and using these sample pieces to promote my quality of work landing me a few gigs in March.
Though I made a substantial amount of money, as a writer you will inevitably have to deal with some people who aren’t happy with your work. It’s not that you suck, on the contrary, it’s more a subjective reasoning.
One man’s meat is another man’s poison.
Instead of letting things like negative reviews or maddening nit pickers tear you down from the progress you’ve made, why not use that as an incentive to become a better writer? Why not challenge yourself to even get these folks adoring you?
Chasing after the dream of being the best writer in the world may seem impossible, but the chase would turn you into one f***ing fantastic writer (excuse the profanity, I got caught up in the moment).
On that note, I want to announce that I have released a book on dating last week friday. I have been testing pricing and though it’s market at 4.99, I will be giving it away for free in a few days. Absolutely free.
Why? I want your opinions. I want your criticism, I want you complements, I wants YOUR REVIEWS!
I won’t get up here and claim that it’s the Best book I’ve written in my entire life. There’s plenty of books I’ve got that will never reach readers eyes. However, flaws and all, if i chose to use that as an excuse, I would have never published a book nor learnt any lessons.
With that being said, in a few days I will be releasing my second non-fictional book on amazon for writers. That’s correct, all the mistakes, all the lessons, all the thoughts, all the work, all the experience I’ve had in the last few months on building my writing habits and how I plan to build even better writing skills for the future are included in this book.
Even better news, I’m going to also have that on a promotion. I will be updating soon and hopefully, if you’re interested in grabbing my books, we can get started.
If you would like a copy of my dating ebook for now, hit me up with an email at: TheZakKhan@gmail.com
I’ll send it over to you absolutely free. All I ask in return is an honest sincere review. I want to learn from your opinions and advice.
We’ll be talking soon.
Hope you ate loads of easter chocolates over the weekend!
