Another Free Book? Yeah, I’m Overdoing It!

I know, I know!

Just how many books have I published! Quite a bit, as it turns out. This current book on promotion is all about finding focus and I want to share it with you.

Finding focus isn’t a matter of learning how to focus. You already know how to focus!

What it requires is understanding how focus works and to direct, improve and apply it to the right aspects of your life until it becomes second nature to you.

In this book, I put together an elaborate guide on how to find focus in the long run and for short term results. It is a fluff-free focused book that consists of every single practical way to build focus until you can call upon it in mere seconds.

You will learn what it entails to enter The Zone and how to achieve maximum productivity whilst focusing on the task at hand.

Cool? Cool!

I’m Debating With Myself

Can I manage 5000 words a day or will it shove me down a mountain straight into a pit of burnout like last week?

I don’t like to plateau. In my mind, I feel like I’m good enough to write at an elite level. But, while showering, it dawned on me that quantity does not guarantee quality.

I see a shit ton of people publishing these niche books on things like microwaves and coconut oil and I cringe. I don’t want to be one of those writers. I don’t want to ever do things for ‘easy money’. There’s no such thing as easy money.

I strongly believe a time is quickly approaching when readers won’t be generous enough to give an author a second chance if they publish 20 page books that are nothing more than a sales gimmick.

Those guys will not last on Amazon. Which is why all my books will be nothing less than a 100 pages. I don’t want to cheat people of their money. If anything, I want them to feel like buying my books is a solid deal.

Quality is the way to go. So the debate is more focused on whether or not I can maintain a certain standard for 5000 words a day.

I’ll give it a shot tomorrow and report back.

My New Book Is Live And Free On Amazon, Show Some Support :)

productivity handbook cover 3.jpgI thought twice about publishing this post given that it’s about promoting a book of mine. But, I want to show up and share my work with you!

This is a small book I’ve been writing in my spare time, it’s called THE PRODUCTIVITY HANDBOOK FOR LAZY PEOPLE and I put in tons of work into making it as potent and fluff free as possible.

No gimmicks. No sales pitch. No fluff and bullshit.

It’s just a informational guide packed with every single bit of productivity techniques I implement on a daily basis. Well, I threw some motivation in it too 🙂

Here’s the book live on Amazon – The Productivity Handbook For Lazy People

It is free and I would seriously appreciate any support I can get, whether you decide to download it, review it or simply share it with someone who could benefit from it 🙂

Okay. Enough of that. I’ve still got about 2300 words to complete before calling it a day. It’s been one hell of a busy day with promotions and marketing. But, I enjoy the grind and I hope you do too.

Here’s to many more days like this!

I’m Learning To Deal With The Doubt Attached To Being A Writer

I won’t lie, people give me strange reactions when I say that I want to pursue a career in writing.

They don’t doubt that I can do it, they doubt it’s actually a career. I see it written across their faces, despite the income I’ve earned over the years from being a freelance writer for many inbound marketing agencies and clients.

I’m not sure why but there’s a stigma attached to being a writer. People tend to think it’s merely something you do to pass time when you’re 65 years old and retired from work.

It irked me.

Other peoples doubts tend to rub off on me when it’s so consistent and so apparent. It bothered me at first but now I’m starting to deal with it quite well. It lights a fire in my ass to succeed as a writer and show them what it truly means to be a writer/author!

As of late, I’m searching for the positives to any given situation and it helps me work with a sense of ease. I’m enjoying myself as a writer these days. So much so that it resembles how i felt a few years ago when I started.

I don’t know what others think but to me, success requires complete commitment. Being a writer/author is just as legit and demanding of a career choice as that of an accountant or entrepreneur or manager. If anything, it requires us to be all of that and MORE!

Try to ignore other peoples doubt if you truly have the desire, commitment and dedication to pursue your dreams. Eventually, hard work adds up and results will appears. That’s just the formula for success.

Hope you’re having a productive monday, I sure am! Destroyed a couple thousand words, wrote this blog post, exercised, marketed, built some backlinks to a niche site I’m working on and practiced by creative thinking skills.

All in all, it’s been anything but a blue monday.

Catch you tomorrow,

The Train Keeps On Moving

It’s the new year and I’m sure you’ve set a number of resolutions, as have I!

One of the most important resolutions I’ve made for 2017 is to write every single day. The first few days always feels great but after some time, I noticed how difficult it started to feel.

Most people sell this idea that making important changes feels good. Sacrificing relaxation to work will feel good. Cutting out sugar from your diet will feel good. Exercise will feel good.

All of these things WILL feel good but the word that often goes unnoticed is WILL. You will lose weight if you diet…but, it takes time. It’s a destination. For some time, you probably won’t lose any weight. But, it will happen.

That period between feeling good or gaining the benefits of some change is DIFFICULT. When you work instead of relax, it will be difficult. When you cut out sugar, it will be difficult. When you start working out, it will be difficult.

Knowing that these things aren’t actually easy but will eventually start to feel easy and simple is better than having unrealistic expectations. I’ve experienced failure before, especially as a writer, so I know the expectations of blogging every day will be both difficult and easy.

It will be these two things for as long as I keep writing. The train keeps on moving for as long as it keeps moving. You will keep writing for as long as you keep writing, regardless of whether it’s meant to be easy or difficult.

So, I’ve decided to change my expectations and prepare for all my resolutions to be difficult. Knowing that I may miss a day or two doesn’t defeat me. I’m able to bounce back and that seems to be attributed to knowing that change is difficult until it becomes easy.

If you’re going through hell, keep going.

Write your heart out, my friend!

Conspiracy Theorists Could Make The Best Writers

Usually in movies, a conspiracy theorist is made to look foolish and ludicrous. They’re either depicted as almost mentally unstable or as comedy relief.

But, in the world of books, conspiracy theorists could actually be the Gods of writing. I kid you not! This is the truth.

These are individuals who don’t simply see something unusual and just shrug it off with a simple – “I wonder what happened.”

Instead, conspiracy theorists run through every possibility, no matter how ridiculous it may sound to others, of what could explain a certain occurrence.

As a writer, you could highly benefit from being a conspiracy theorist. I’ve been trying to work conspiracies and prophecies into my story and it’s taking some practice but the amount of possibilities I’ve opened up to the plot by simply speculating has been phenomenal.

I’ve been working on a strategy that not only improves how easily you think up explanations for events but also improves creative thinking. Today, I’ve been going through old mementos from my parents past and just thinking up stories as to what it could represent, how they got ahold of it and where it was found or made.

Do this for just 15 minutes a day, every day, and I’m more than certain you’ll unleash the creativity within you. Heck, pull up a few stories on the net or scan a newspaper and try to piece together what could have been the motive and conspiracy behind an unfortunate murder or robbery.

It’s fun and you’ll gain a new skill that can help you write juicier plots!

Oh, by the way, today has been a productive day! Not only did I manage to go out and sort some errands, I also managed to fit in a workout session and wrote almost 3000 words! I’m loving the feeling attached to progress. Once you get started, the more you work, the better you feel and the easier it becomes!

If you’re feeling lazy or had a long day, try and fit in some time to write regardless. If you work when it feels tough, you’ll never face the issue of not being able to write religiously. If anything, it will become an irreplaceable part of your life.

Oops, I got carried away! Sorry for the lecture haha!

Anyway, have a great weekend and don’t quit on those resolutions…just yet! 😉

Confidence Always Reflects In Words

Bold. Calculated. Fearless.

These are often characteristics found in individuals and writers who are confident. It’s not easy. Putting yourself out there and being as experimental as possible in writing is a scary feat to accomplish.

I always just presumed that confidence is something you can wing. Fake it until you make it, right?

But, I’m not so sure that actually works. What I have come to understand is that it is crucial for any writer who wants to start a novel to be confident from the get go. You cannot afford to let a lack of self esteem hold you back because if you do, it’s highly likely you won’t write.

There were times when I doubted my abilities and it often resulted in me trashing my work or deleting it altogether.

Eh! It sucks!

However, why bother so much? If you want to write and you’re unsure if people would accept it or not, write anyway! If they don’t accept, too bad. We’ll try again! If they accept your work, you gain a ton. The only scenario where you lose is if you don’t even try.

I read a quote recently and it said, “You either win or you learn. Failure does not measure into the equation unless you quit.”

It’s so damn true. This morning I fired up my laptop, opened my book and read the few pages I wrote yesterday. I didn’t like what I wrote and started to feel as if maybe I’m not cut out to write an epic adventure novel. There’s so many elements that goes into writing a solid story and I didn’t feel like I was confident enough to do it.

I could have quit but it would have been a waste of my time to quit!

So, I just decided to use the tools in my arsenal and write as best as I could today.

That’s the trick. Just write for today.

Don’t think about whether the next 10 chapters are going to be insanely entertaining. Focus on making today’s chapter as interesting and exciting as possible and the rest will follow when the time arrives.

In time, I’m sure my confidence will increase. Look, challenges are what makes us stronger. Every time we write, we’re getting stronger and better.

Let’s just write and forget about all those insecurities.

The story I’m working on is called INFINITY and I’m truly excited to share it with you as soon as it’s done. The ideas for this story is terrific. I’m hoping the execution is on point and everything comes together properly.

Keep on keeping on, fellow writers and authors!
